Statisk elektrisitet på laminatgulv

Hvordan redusere statisk elektrisitet på laminatgulvet?

What is Static Electricity?

Static electricity is an electrical charge that is at rest – as opposed to electricity in motion or current electricity. Static charges can be generated by either friction or induction.

How is Static Electricity generated?

The most common generation of static charge is the triboelectric charge or the friction electricity developed when rubbing together and then separating two masses. For example, when two blocks are rubbed together and then separated, a triboelectric charge is developed on each block. The two blocks will have opposite polarities; one will be negatively charged and the other will be positively charged. Other examples include:

  • Unwinding a roll of tape
  • A person walking across a floor and soles contacting & separating from the floor.

The tendency for laminate floor coverings to electrically charge can have consequences for the user. A charge can build when an insulating material, such as insulating flooring, comes into contact to another material, such as footwear. For human beings the threshold of sensation is roughly 2 kV of body voltage when touching grounded objects.

1. Increase Your Home’s Humidity

The dry air in your home is the real reason why your laminate flooring is shocking you, so dealing with the dry air should be your first concern. You can easily increase your home’s humidity by using a vaporizer or by turning off the furnace when you don’t need it.

2. Buy Anti-static Laminate Flooring

If static build-up in your laminate flooring has become a serious problem or if you live in an area that is very dry in the winter, you may want to invest in specialty-made anti-static laminate flooring. Anti-static laminate is made by adding small carbon particles into the laminate during the manufacturing process. These particles are conductive, so static electricity does not build up and shock you. Not all companies make anti-static laminate flooring, so you will have to ask to make sure that the flooring you select is anti-static.

3. Keep Your Floors Clean

While the dust on your floor doesn’t cause the static electricity to build up, it can make the problem worse. Keep your flooring clean by regularly sweeping and mopping it to lessen the static electricity. There are special products you can buy, but regular laminate flooring cleaners work just as well.

4. Avoid Synthetic and Wool Clothing

While you may not want to purchase a whole new wardrobe to reduce a few minor shocks, choosing clothing made out of natural fibers can really help to reduce the number of shocks you get when walking across your laminate flooring. Start by wearing cotton socks, since they are the piece that actually touches the floor.

Hvorfor slipe og polere gulvet?

Sliping og polering av betonggulv eller Tregulv!

= Slitesterk overflate som er lett å holde ren.

Care and maintenance of grinding or polished concrete floors

While the stain protection and densifiers do give your polished concrete floors a good protective layer, regular cleaning is recommended to get the most out of your floor and maximise its life span. However, the process is very straightforward.

Regular/daily cleaning as necessary:

  • Daily cleaning consists of sweeping or vacuuming to remove any dust and debris
  • Carefully removing anything sticky with a non-scratch implement
  • Mop with warm water, ideally using a dry mop such as a microfibre mop
  • Treat with a PH neutral concrete conditioner, applied as per the manufacturer’s instructions
  • To keep a really high sheen in areas of high foot traffic you could burnish a dry surface with a floor polisher and a white buffing pad
  • Cleaners with detergents are not recommended as they can leave a residue which is difficult to rinse off and collects dirt

Heavy duty cleaning:

  • Heavy duty cleaning may be needed if the build-up of dirt and grime is too much for a light clean
  • More thorough cleanse may also be required in busy commercial environments, such as restaurants
  • Heavy duty cleaning can be carried out every three months, monthly or as required using a suitable cleaner and non-damaging buffer pads and tools, such as HTC green Twister pads
  • The type of buffing pad required depends on whether you have a smooth or uneven surface on your polished concrete

How to clean spillages on polished concrete floors

While the coatings on our polished concrete floors are long-lasting and difficult to break down, it is recommended that any spillages are mopped up as quickly as possible as they can penetrate the surface if left too long.

If you do spill something on polished concrete flooring, the best advice is to clean it up straight away.

  • First lift as much of the spill as possible with paper towel, a cloth, or other absorbent material
  • Mop the remaining spillage with warm water
  • If the spillage was acidic, such as lemon juice, vinegar, wine, bird droppings or animal excrement, adding PH neutral cleaner or other suitable alkaline cleaner to the water should aid cleaning and help neutralise the acid

Betongsliping/ Polishing

----------Polishing Betonggulv/spørsmål---------- Hva er polert betong? Polert betong er betong som er blitt behandlet gjennom en serie mekanisk malt “polering / sliping” trinn ved bruk av profesjonelt utstyr designet for betongpolering.

What is Polished Concrete?

Polished concrete is concrete that has been processed through a series of mechanically ground “polishing/grinding” steps utilizing professional equipment designed for concrete polishing. This process also includes the use of concrete densifier/hardener which penetrates into the concrete and creates a chemical reaction to help harden and dust proof the surface. During concrete polishing the surface is processed through a series of steps (in general a minimum of 6-8 grinding steps of processing is considered polished concrete) utilizing progressively finer grinding tools. The grinding tools are progressive grits of industrial diamonds in a bonded material such as metal/hybrid/resin often referred to as diamond polishing pads.

What is the process for concrete polishing?

Concrete polishing has a standard step by step process that can be followed for most concrete floors; however, concrete floors vary in size, age, and damage, so it should be noted that each situation and circumstance is different, each floor will have its own history that will impact how a professional handles its future. Furthermore, a typical concrete process is as follows:

  1. Your floors should be inspected by a professional to ensure that there isn’t a foundational issue with your concrete.

  2. Any abrasions, chemical damages, holes, cracks, or residual coatings/paints will need to be fixed and removed.

  3. Diamond grinding begins once your floors have been approved and this step will involve you stating how fine you want your floors ground.

  4. A chemical hardener/densifier is added to strengthen the concrete floor after it has been ground.

  5. The polishing process is the last process and the level depends on how much sheen is desired.

What are the benefits of polished concrete floors?

Whether you’re investing in polished concrete floors for a commercial, residential, or industrial property, they offer amazing benefits that fill all the needs you may have. Some of the benefits of a polished concrete floor include:

  • Money Savers. A polished concrete floor is the best way to save money, especially when you compare installation and maintenance to other flooring options.

  • Longevity. Polishing concrete floors can give you two or more decades with your floors with minimal to no maintenance.

  • Hygienic. When your floors are easily cleaned your space is easier to manage. Concrete polished floors are easy to clean and even easier to keep clean because they do not allow any liquids or debris to penetrate your concretes surface.

  • Resiliency at its finest. A polished concrete floor is resistant to wear and tear from high foot traffic, so if you are installing polished concrete floors in a commercial setting you can rest assured that they will last for years down the road. Polished concrete is also resistant to chemical breakdown, moisture, and staining. Moisture can create breeding grounds for bacteria and mold, ruining unprotected concrete.

  • Less maintenance than any other flooring option. Polished concrete floors do not require back-breaking care or intensive treatments to ensure long lifespans. They stay clean and are easily swept or mopped to be kept clean.

  • Glass-like finish. With a. glossy finish, polished concrete floors help brighten up any room they are installed in because they reflect the lighting in the said room.

  • Sustainability. Polished concrete floors do not use any hazardous coatings or materials. They do not require excess tools to install or remove flooring, so they do not create unnecessary waste.

Is Polished Concrete Slippery?

Because of polished concrete’s unique shine and high reflectivity, many people question if it is slippery. Generally speaking, when the concrete is clean and dry, it is generally no more slippery than plain concrete surfaces. In fact, polished concrete tends to be less slippery than waxed linoleum or polished marble.

Can concrete polishing remove oil stains?

Concrete polishing can remove certain oil stains. There are many factors involved that can change that, like the age of the concrete, the amount of any type of stain, and what coating was previously on the floor. The grinding and polishing process can revitalize a damaged floor but each case should be evaluated by a professional.

How Do I Maintain Polished Concrete?

Maintenance for polished concrete is very minimal, however, regular cleaning is still needed. Regular care includes occasional damp mopping to remove dust or grit. You may also consider use some neutral cleaner and conditioner that cleans the surface, and leaves behind a dirt-resistant film.

Except for high traffic areas, polished concrete will keep its shine for years. If it should ever dull, it is easy to restore. Sometimes simply buffing the floor with a commercial polishing compound will do the trick. If more touch-up is necessary, the floors can be lightly re-polished with a fine-grit abrasive.

Can you polish a damaged concrete floor?

Polishing damaged concrete floors is something that is very doable. Many questions must be answered beforehand, like how old is the concrete and are there any foundational issues? Many things may impact the final decision on concrete polishing damaged floors.

It is true that, all concrete can be polished, but it should always be inspected by a professional. In some cases, the concrete is simply too far gone and needs to be replaced completely.

Kan jeg ha parkett når jeg har hund eller katt?

Parkett når man har hund eller katt?

DOGS, CATS AND PARQUET IS IT POSSIBLE ?

It is not the first time that a client has asked us about this, lovers of these faithful pets are concerned about the compatibility of a wooden or laminate floor for dogs and their pets. We all know that dogs love to bite the legs of puppy chairs, and cats like to tear up curtains, but we do not stop having chairs or curtains, right? Why are we going to do without a nice parquet if we like it? There are some things to keep in mind, to know how to protect the parquet from dogs. The problems

The problems that a dog or cat can cause on a parquet or laminate flooring are based on several issues, nails, urine, and a less frequent case that I have found is the carrycot where they usually sleep.

Pet nails and parquet

It is difficult for a dog or cat to damage a wooden parquet that has a good varnish with its nails, except that it digs to look for it, I don’t know what … you already understand those things that dogs do. Good wood parquet varnishes withstand the walk and run of our pets, they can cause small almost negligible surface scratches, which with a regular maintenance product type refresh will be solved.

Laminate floors are much more resistant to this type of damage, so for the nails of pets we should not have to worry at first. The only “annoyance” that can cause us is the noise of nails dog parquet but we forgive it for everything they offer us in return.

Pet urine on wooden floor

Sleeping dog This is a more worrying topic, in this concept there is no resistant platform for dogs or cats but with a good pet education it is not usually a problem, every good owner usually has his pet well taught. With everything and with that, as children it is inevitable that they pee here or there, during that time we will have to be careful not to let the urine stay on the parquet for a long time, if it is cleaned with warm water and mop, drying it well when it is finished. do, nothing will happen. The problem is that it stays for hours, the urine is alkaline and when it dries its PH increases and it corrodes the surface layer like bleach. In the case of natural wood floors, black stains are created, difficult to remove, impossible if our pet has taken the nice habit and does it in the same place, and in the case of laminate floors, the problem is that it filters through the Join and inflate the edges of the boards, in addition to the bad smell that will remain.

The homemade solution for pet urine in both cases (wooden parquet and laminate flooring), would be to mix white vinegar that has pH 2.5 and water in equal parts, put it in an aerosol can and apply enough quantity to cover the stain without exaggerate. Vinegar is a mild acid that neutralizes the alkalinity of the urine, we would allow 2 or 3 minutes to act on the stain, and we collect it with absorbent paper, then with warm water and a lot of it, we will dry it well. There are also products on the market for these cases, but if you have just arrived from work and you find this scenario, you may opt for the home remedy for this occasion. If this remedy cannot remove the stain, you may have to polish and varnish the parquet, changing the affected pieces, since it has surely penetrated the wood fiber and it is impossible to remove it even with a good knife. In the case of laminate floors, badly called synthetic flooring, changing the affected pieces will suffice.

Pet beds on laminate flooring.

Sometimes they cause problems, of course the low-quality ones, due to the fact that our pet’s bed ends up transferring humidity to the parquet, possibly due to not moving it from the site, its drooling, etc., normally this happens when they put a simple towel or blanket to sleeping or the carrycot is not waterproofed at the bottom. We may not realize it in the short term, but in the long run, as they sleep in the same place, the area ends up deteriorating. I have seen this in a couple of houses where I have had to polish and varnish and the clients themselves have taken the deduction, the damage and the solutions are the same as with the urine of our pet.

In short, YES it is COMPATIBLE to enjoy a beautiful parquet or laminate flooring in the company of our faithful pets, as long as certain precautions are taken and we educate our pets well, at first it costs but we all know what they are capable of and much more.

Wood: Healthy and SMART

Scandinavian og Nordic house design is healthy and SMART

Wood on the interior and exterior of the house are the clue

(Skandinavisk husdesign er sunt og SMART)

(Tre på interiøret og utsiden av huset er ledetråden)

Tregulvet sprekker!!
Tregulvet svulmer oop!!!
Tregulvet er oppblåst!!!!
Tregulvet er hevet!!!!!

Healthy

Every one has feel positive emotional experience, such as proximity to nature, warmth, homeliness and a relaxing effect, when staying in a wood room ( house, office or so on), this is because wood transmit similar sensations that nature does. Nature provides a setting for effortless attention, and we get gradually refreshed by being in nature.

Smart

If you have seen craks in wood, so you have been wtinessed one of the properties by which wood is an smart material.

sprekk tregulv

What
are smart material? In short, a smart material is a compound which
has a visible and tangible reaction to external stimuli by undergoing
a material property change. The dominant feature of smart materials
is «shape-memory effect» (SME).

Wood
is a smart material being able to perform a self controlled being
able to perform a selfcontrolled «intelligent» action and capable
of «thinking» like a living organism, adopting and implementing the
solution.

Moisture-induced shape memory effect (shrinking and swelling). Wood cell bundles possess moisture-activated shape memory twist capabilities. Thermally-induced shape memory effects are also observed in wood veneers; for example, a cooled wood veneer in a loaded position is capable of recovering its original form when heated.

A
little bit more

Wood
has stress memory and strain memory effects. Wood has the ability to
recollect the type of loading (tension or compression) which it had
undergone. The difference between the free and restrained shrinkage
is named “frozen shrinkage” (Fsh) or “mechano-sorptive creep”
(MSC). The MSC phenomenon is observed at cyclical change of moisture
content in loaded wood. “Hygrofatigue” that reduces wood
stiffness plays the main role in this process.

So,
don´t forget that wood has tangible reaction
to changes in the environment.
